When The Path Appears
My poem for this painting:
It does not arrive with noise.
No fanfare. No certainty laid out in advance.
It comes softly—
a widening of air,
a loosening in the body,
a sense that something ahead
is gently waiting.
You have not imagined this.
You feel no doubt.
What once felt dense
begins to part.
What once resisted
falls aside.
You do not chase it.
You do not force it.
You walk,
toward what was always meant for you.
What you carry is not hope,
but recognition of your inner beauty,
of dreams held back,
now possible.
This is not a beginning.
It is a return to your truth.
And the path—
quiet, illuminated, unmistakable—
whispers only this:
Come this way.
Everything you want is this way.
SYMBOLISM:
WALKING: She’s walking forward, not looking back, not second guessing, nor treading water or going sideways.
Dreams you’ve held back, bubbling up, the path you’re meant to be on is revealing itself.
DRESS: is like the resistance, falling softly away as she moves in the right direction.
ROSE: represents choosing what is right for her - choosing a life that feels true, not one shaped by expectation or approval; the rose also recognises and honours her inner beauty,
DIAMOND NECKLACE: gently twinkling as it catches the light, throwing sparks of clarity and quietly reminding her she’s on the right path, reassuring, confirming, keep going - ‘Come this way, everything you want is this way.’
Hidden Key:
Every painting contains a hidden antique key for you to find.
A symbol of awakening, buried dreams rising, and the woman you are becoming.
Quote that inspired this piece:
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”
— Henry David Thoreau
