JOANNA BLAIR
Fine Artist / Storyteller
Through paintings and story, I explore beauty, courage, identity, and the quiet unfolding of becoming more fully yourself.
THE WORLD I’M CREATING
What happens when a woman begins choosing herself?
She begins listening to the voice she once ignored.
She notices what she once hurried past.
She becomes more particular about what she allows into her life.
She stops asking for permission for the things that matter to her.
And slowly, her choices begin to change.
Not because she is becoming someone else, but because she is becoming who she was all along.
This is the world at the heart of both my paintings and the story I’m writing alongside them, The Turning Point.
The Story Woven Through the Paintings:
Alongside my paintings, I write The Turning Point — an ongoing fictional story about Evangeline Hart, a woman who has spent years being everything everyone else needed, while quietly placing her own dreams last.
When an unexpected invitation from Paris opens the door to a world she had never imagined for herself, she begins choosing differently.
As Evangeline’s life expands, the people she meets bring stories of their own — of beauty, ambition, love, loss, courage and becoming.

Meet Joanna
I’m Joanna Blair, an Australian fine artist and storyteller creating narrative paintings about beauty, transformation and the quiet courage of becoming.
My work brings together portraiture, symbolic florals, hidden details and beautiful objects, each carrying part of a larger emotional world.
Alongside the paintings, I write The Turning Point, allowing the fictional world and the painted world to continually inform one another.
My medium is beauty — but what I am really interested in is what happens when a woman begins to see possibility in her own life again.
