Sometimes, a door closes so suddenly it feels as though the ground has shifted beneath our feet—a moment we didn’t expect, a change we didn’t choose, and a pain we’d rather not endure.
In those moments, it takes courage not to fall in a heap, but to keep moving forward, even when we can’t see what lies on the other side.
What if, instead of an ending, this is the universe quietly dismantling (unbeknownst to us) what no longer serves us to make space for something extraordinary?
This series explores that delicate, transformative threshold—the space between loss and possibility.
It’s about trusting the unknown, stepping through the darkness, and finding beauty in life’s unexpected turns.
Only when we look back do we see the extraordinary thing that came because of the door that closed.
When One Door Closes, Another One Opens is a story of becoming—of discovering joy, love, or purpose that would never have found us had we not been brave enough to keep walking through.

HIDDEN KEY
In each of the major paintings (excluding the Petite Originals) is a hidden key for you to find! Representing transition from one stage of life to another, they signify the courage needed to cross thresholds, leave behind the old, and embrace the unknown.
I love that they are a metaphor for safeguarding what is valuable (You!); as well as the symbolism of unlocking a door that is akin to uncovering profound truths about life or oneself, the gaining of wisdom, understanding and enlightenment.
I’ve chosen to use an antique key (a different one for each painting) for their timeless beauty and intricate craftsmanship.
