What Was Always Within Her (w.i.p)

Quote that inspired this piece:

“All you need is already within you, only you must approach yourself with reverence and love.”
— Nisargadatta Maharaj

My poem for this painting:

There comes a moment
when what has been growing quietly
can no longer remain unseen.

Not because it is forced.
Not because it asks to be admired.
But because life, once awakened,
has its own way of rising.

The colour returns first.
Then the breath.
Then the unmistakable sense
that something once folded within you
has begun to open.

You do not become yourself all at once.

You bloom in evidence.
In warmth.
In courage.
In the strange new ease
of no longer asking the world
whether you are allowed.

The hibiscus does not apologise
for being vivid.

And neither, now, do you.

SYMBOLISM:

HIBISCUS:
- they bloom boldly, briefly, generously, and unapologetically.
- colour returning, life pushing outward, the woman no longer hidden inside herself.

HIDDEN KEY:
- The key symbolises the quiet unlocking of inner knowing. In this painting, she is not searching outside herself for permission, validation, or direction. She is turning toward the light within her and beginning to recognise what was always there: colour, courage, instinct, and the strength to become fully herself.
